Timeless Elegance: Elaine and Paul's Stunning Hillbark Hotel Wedding

There are some venues that just take your breath away the moment you drive through the gates, and Hillbark Hotel is absolutely one of them. Nestled in the heart of the Wirral, this Grade II* listed mock-Tudor country house is a total dream for a wedding photographer. Everywhere you look, there is historic charm, incredible texture, and the kind of light that makes my camera very, very happy.

I had the absolute honor of capturing Elaine and Paul's wedding here, and it was nothing short of magic. Grab a cup of coffee, and let me walk you through their beautiful day.

Saying "I Do" in the Great Hall

If you have never seen the Great Hall at Hillbark Hotel, picture this: soaring ceilings, intricate William Morris stained glass, and an incredible inglenook fireplace. It feels grand but incredibly intimate all at once.

• The Groom's Reaction: Paul was a bundle of nervous energy right up until the music started. The moment Elaine walked down the aisle, his face completely softened. Capturing that exact second is exactly why I do this job.

• The Lighting: The ambient light in the Great Hall is famously dramatic. I loved using the natural light filtering through the stained glass to create some rich, cinematic shots during their vows.

Golden Hour in the Grounds

We managed to capture a stunning image just as the sun was setting by the pergola and it's one of my favourite images from the day.

A Night to Remember

The evening reception was a masterclass in how to throw a party. Following some incredibly heartfelt (and hilarious) speeches, the live music kicked off. The dance floor was packed from the first song. I love getting right into the middle of the action on the dance floor with my camera—it's the best way to capture the raw, chaotic joy of your favorite people letting their hair down.
